About the author

Abhishek Maran is a Venture Capitalist Investor based in Sydney, Australia, where he has invested in startups and VC funds since 2018.

His fascination with tech and startups began much earlier, from tinkering with computers and random gadgets as a kid, to building side hustles, startups and communities through high school and university. In 2024, he was recognised in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for his contributions to venture capital and startup ecosystem.

Prior to working in venture capital, he spent several years consulting with the largest family offices, endowments, and foundations in the Oceania region, helping them allocate investment portfolios across various asset classes as well as spending some time as a generalist at a pre-seed Consumer Fintech.

As a Venture Capitalist, he has worked with hundreds of startups from around the world, leading investments in a range of sectors including B2B SaaS, Crypto, HealthTech, AI and more.
